Backspin Puzzle Break (Sveta Slam Edition)

Sveta Sveta. burning bright,
In the City of Light or on a New York night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

As the final edition of Backspin's three-part Time Capsule series arrives soon, the ten year anniversary of the "Hordette Summer" nears its end, as well. At the time, the third straight Russian woman to claim a major title in 2004 seemed to possibly be fated to be the greatest of all the Russians. She turned out to be the most enigmatic, capable of playing her very best, or most frustrating, tennis at every turn. Ah, but unlike some of the countrywomen she defeated en route to claiming a pair of slam crowns (so far?), she WAS able to win "the big one."

All for now.

LOL. Maria just made rude gesture about Ana's blood pressure.

Don't worry MaSha, I'm sure your opponents are making rude gestures about your bathroom breaks.

Ana's making more noise now to match Maria. Maria is swinging her racket in disgust.

Double faults abound.

DRAMA.

The only difference between these glamazons is that Maria is more stubborn.

Ana is getting a bit lucky that Maria's a bit off today...Ana's tentative shots would usually be pummeled for winners.

When Sharapova shouts after a rally...does she only mouth the words? How come we can hear her shrieks after every groundie but not her profanities?

Or is it edited out by the tv broadcasters?

------

Ana's team celebration after the win was adorable for lack of a better word. Her coach just jumped up and hugged the guy next to him in jubilation.

Ana and her new coach have really good chemistry. He's very supportive during matches. I used to think that was a crutch, but I think it helps her a lot. And that's all that really matters.

Wow, with the hair, trophies and non-Kuznet figures everywhere, this puzzle's structure took me much more time to understand than the other ones. Befitting.

Eric-

It could be that they edit that out. I'm sure there's a slight delay in the telecast that would allow it.

Really didn't think AnaIvo had any chance at all of coming back in that match after blowing the 6-2/4-0 lead. She's really turned a corner over the course of this season.

Everyone seems to be edited for broadcast, Eric. Sharapova isn't too difficult, but they probably had to have a full-time staff member to handle Capriati and Davenport :D

Diane....yes....Capriati. I forgot about good old Jenn.

Then they should edit out shrieking if they have the ability.
